We’re living in a time where even the most foundational truths—like what it means to be human—are up for debate. The culture around us is frantically rewriting definitions. And when we allow that to happen, the consequences go far beyond words. We begin dismantling the very framework that has supported freedom, justice, and dignity for generations.
You’ve probably sensed it. Words that once held deep meaning—freedom, truth, identity, authority—are losing their clarity. That confusion isn’t just theoretical; it’s deeply personal. Especially for our kids. They’re growing up in a world where even their humanity is being called into question.
Ingrid Newkirk, co-founder of PETA, once famously said:
“A rat is a pig is a dog is a boy.”
Let that settle in for a moment. That quote is succinct, sobering… and utterly dehumanizing.
And yet it reflects a growing ideology in our culture: that we are nothing more than animals. Creatures of instinct. Products of chance. No wonder the rates of anxiety and depression are skyrocketing, especially among our youth. If a boy is just a dog—or a rat—or a pig—what is there to live for?
This week on Christian Parent / Crazy World, I’m joined again by Scott Allen—an author, cultural commentator, and president of the Disciple Nations Alliance. He’s spent decades training Christian leaders around the globe and has written multiple books, including:
📗 Ten Words to Heal Our Broken World
📘 Why Social Justice Is Not Biblical Justice
📗 The Kingdom Unleashed
Together, we unpack how this one core belief—what it means to be human—has shaped the very best of Western civilization… and how losing that belief threatens everything we hope to pass on to our children. Scott brings not only deep theological insight, but powerful real-world examples from across the globe—stories of what happens when cultures either embrace or abandon the biblical view of humanity.
This conversation is packed with truth and practical application for parents. Here’s what you’ll learn:
This isn’t just a cultural or political issue. It’s a parenting issue.
Our kids are being raised in a world where identity is fluid, truth is relative, and even being human is up for debate. They are encountering these lies in classrooms, on TikTok, and in textbooks.
If we don’t give them the biblical answers, someone else will fill that vacuum—with ideas that rob them of purpose and reduce their lives to nothing more than chemical reactions.
We cannot afford to stay silent.
This episode isn’t just another conversation. It’s a wake-up call. A reminder that the biblical truths we pass down are not just ancient ideas—they are the very foundation of human flourishing.
If we want our children to inherit a legacy of faith, dignity, and freedom, we have to fight to preserve the truth that made them free.
🧱 When we lose the words that built the West, we lose the future we’re trying to build for our kids.
