Can I ask you something kind of big?
When was the last time you prayed with your child—not just for them?
I know, I know. That question might sting a little. Believe me, I’ve felt it too. Prayer is one of the most powerful tools we have as believers… and yet, when it comes to teaching our kids how to use it, most of us feel totally unqualified.
There are shelves full of books about prayer—for adults. Courses, podcasts, conferences… you name it. But what about our children? Who’s equipping them?
This is why I had to bring back one of my absolute favorite episodes of Christian Parent/Crazy World—a beautiful, inspiring conversation with Erica Renaud, author of Pray With Me: Help Your Children Engage in Authentic and Powerful Prayer.
Erica’s heart for prayer is contagious. She’s a mom of five who gets it—life is busy, parenting is hard, and spiritual disciplines can feel out of reach some days. But she also knows the power of starting small, of creating sacred space, and of inviting your children into prayer in ways that are natural, simple, and deeply meaningful.
In this “best of” episode, we talk about:
There’s a quote from this conversation that stuck with me:
“Our kids can’t catch what we don’t throw.”
Friend, if we’re not modeling prayer—if we’re not inviting our children into that space—they could miss it altogether. But if we start now in the small, everyday moments, we can give them a gift that will shape their entire spiritual life.
So I hope you’ll tune in. This episode is full of grace, hope, and practical wisdom that you can start using today.

And after you listen, ask yourself: What’s one small way I can make prayer more present in my family’s life this week?
Let’s raise kids who don’t just know about God—but who know how to talk with Him.
🔹 Memorable Quote from this episode:
The Power of Embracing Insecurity: “The more I… explored that idea that I’m not an expert in this [prayer], the more I explored the the idea that really no parent is adequate in this area. We all know we have room to grow… this is actually a huge benefit. We can lean into our insecurities in prayer. And it actually makes us way better teachers when we’re teaching from a place of insecurity.” ~ Erica Renaud
With you in prayer…
