There’s a message our kids are hearing everywhere—and most of us parents don’t even realize it.
Culture is so good at sneaking these lies in that sometimes we start to believe them too. If we don’t root out these falsehoods, they can derail our kids’ view of truth, confuse their identity, and chip away at their faith.
I’m talking about…
THE LIES OUR CULTURE IS SELLING TO OUR KIDS.
And unfortunately, most of them are buying. (Even the ones raised in Christian homes.)
Just think about the messages your children are surrounded by:
From Disney movies to Instagram feeds, from classrooms to cafeteria conversations—these ideas shape how our kids see themselves, God, and the world.
As Christian parents, it’s not enough to hope our kids know the truth. If we want to counteract these lies—and point them toward reality, not “your truth” or “my truth”—we have to be intentional.
That’s why this best of episode of CHRISTIAN PARENT/CRAZY WORLD is worth a second listen.
I’m joined by Elizabeth Urbanowicz, founder and CEO of Foundation Worldview. With a master’s degrees in literacy education and Christian apologetics, Elizabeth is on a mission to equip parents like us to raise kids who think biblically, logically, and clearly.
In our conversation, she reveals seven of the most dangerous lies culture is feeding the next generation—and offers practical ways to help your kids spot and reject them.
1️. If I Feel It, It Must Be True – Feelings don’t always equal reality. Teach your kids early how to separate truth from emotion—before their teen years hit.
2️. Follow Your Heart – A classic Disney (and Hallmark) mantra, but not always safe advice. Help your kids evaluate whether their “heart” is a trustworthy guide.
3️. Love Is Affirming Everything I Feel – True love sometimes corrects. Teach kids the biblical definition of love—seeking the best for someone, even when it’s hard.
4️. Faith Is the Opposite of Knowledge – Biblical faith is rooted in evidence, history, and God’s promises—not blind optimism.
5️. Humans Are the Product of Blind, Unguided Evolution – Our value is not accidental. Use simple examples—like letter tiles or DNA—to show how information always points to a designer.
6️. You Are the One You’ve Been Waiting For – Culture says “you are enough.” Scripture says we need a Savior. Our worth comes from God, not self-reliance.
7️. A Good God Wouldn’t Judge – God’s judgment is part of His love and justice. His grace matters because His justice is real.
Parents must be proactive in teaching kids to:
By starting these conversations early and grounding responses in scripture—and by modeling a faith that welcomes hard questions—parents can immunize their kids against confusion and guide them toward a confident, resilient Christian worldview.
And remember—it’s never too late. God can rebuild any foundation.
