🌟 Does God Still Do Miracles—And Do Our Prayers Matter?
Miracles—real, supernatural, unexplainable interventions from God—are at the heart of our Christian faith. Yet so many of us wonder:
Are miracles just for Bible times?
Or does God still work in powerful, mysterious ways today?
And, if He does, is our praying a factor in whether we see them?
As Christian parents in a complicated world, we need answers for ourselves and for our kids. Our children need to know that faith is not just a set of ideas or rituals—it’s a relationship with the living God who is present, powerful, and involved.
That’s exactly the question we wrestle with in th latest episode of Christian Parent/Crazy World.
Clif Payne is living proof that God still moves in miraculous ways. A passionate Bible student and former New Age seeker, Clif’s faith journey has been marked by supernatural healing, provision, and experiences that simply cannot be explained by the laws of nature.
Why does this matter?
Because Clif was told that miracles were a thing of the past and left the faith over financial abuse in the church—until God broke in and changed everything. Clif went on to write a book on what the Bible really says about money.
🌠 Real-Life Encounters with the Miraculous: Clif recounts stunning stories—in his own life and ministry—of God’s power breaking through. From supernatural healings to dramatic answers to prayer, Clif’s testimony shows that God is not done moving.
🛐 Prayer Isn’t a Protocol—It’s a Relationship: If you’re looking for a formula or magic words, you won’t find it. Clif reminds us that miracles aren’t unlocked by some ritual or church “abracadabra.” Instead, God’s Spirit moves through relationship, through faith, and very often, through our prayers.
💬 We Have Authority (But Not Control): Clif describes moments when he prayed in faith and commanded healing “not in my name, but in the authority of Jesus of Nazareth”—and God responded. Sometimes miracles happened instantly. Other times, God wrote a different story than Clif or his loved ones would have chosen. The key? Listen to the Holy Spirit, pray boldly, and trust God’s wisdom absolutely.
🤲 When Miracles Don’t Happen: Sometimes as believers we have prayed and believed, and yet the miracle hasn’t come in the way we’d hoped. Clif’s journey reminds us: “Always write your theology in pencil.” God is sovereign, His ways higher than ours, and He asks us to trust Him even when understanding fails.
Our children are watching. They need to know that God is real, active, and responsive. When we pray—honestly, passionately, in faith—He moves. Sometimes in ways we can see, other times in ways we cannot. But our prayers matter. As Clif says, “When we pray, coincidences happen. When we don’t, they don’t.”
✋ Sometimes the greatest miracle is faith itself—a living trust in a God who is always working, whether we see it or not.

“There are some things in life you’re not going to understand.
Sometimes you just have to trust God”
~Clif Payne
The greatest gift you can give your kids is a faith that expects God to move—and a heart that trusts Him no matter what. Teach them to pray boldly, to listen for God’s voice, and to trust Him even when His answers look different than what they hoped for.
Because sometimes God’s miracles don’t come in the form we imagined. Sometimes the healing looks like heaven. Sometimes the breakthrough is an unshakable peace in the storm. And sometimes God responds with a bona fide miracle. But make no mistake—He is still moving.
Miracles are never out of reach for those who keep seeking, asking, and believing.
Keep praying. Keep expecting. Keep trusting. The God of yesterday is still at work today—often in ways we least expect, but always in ways that are good.
· Where have you seen God move in surprising ways—big or small?
· How can you encourage your kids to pray for God to work, not just in emergencies but every day?
· Are there wounds or disappointments that have dulled your hope for the miraculous? How will you offer those to God in prayer?
Miracles are possible. Prayer matters. Let’s build that expectation—and that relationship—into the foundation of our families.
