In a world packed with distractions, pressures, and shifting values, it’s tempting to think the little moments don’t matter—or that only “perfect” faith has lasting impact. I’m certainly guilty of thinking that.
And I’ll be very transparent here… after five years of hosting the Christian Parent/Crazy World podcast and interviewing countless remarkable leaders, authors, and thinkers, I have to confess: I left this week’s conversation more convicted and challenged than any interview I’ve ever done. The profound truths uncovered in this episode stopped me in my tracks and led to a tearful confession with my kids. I’m convinced that in my home, we are missing one of the most important opportunities we have as parents—the sacred, transformative moments that happen around our dinner tables.
Consider this:
What if it’s not the big events, church programs, or even the curriculum that ground our kids in faith the most… but, rather, it’s the simple, daily act of gathering, listening, eating, and sharing life?
What if reclaiming the dinner table as holy ground is the overlooked key to shaping resilient, joyful, gospel-rooted children?
It’s easy to undervalue meals as “just dinner,” especially when life is crazy. But the truth is, these moments—when we pause to pray, share, laugh, and sometimes wrestle—are some of the most foundational opportunities we have to disciple our children and root them in authentic faith. Sometimes in our hurry, we’re exchanging spiritual inheritance for busyness, and we’re missing out on kingdom moments that last for eternity.
That is the topic we dive into on this week’s episode of Christian Parent/Crazy World
Randy & Rozanne are insight-rich leaders, seasoned parents, authors, and passionate advocates for family discipleship:
Together, they share not just theology but lived experience in raising children, navigating seasons, and building a legacy of faith and connection.
True confession… Randy & Rozanne are authors of an incredible new book Encountering God’s Love from Genesis to Revelation, and that’s what we were supposed to talk about in this episode. (Tune in next week to hear that powerful conversation!) But the Holy Spirit had other plans. This divinely inspired detour is just what our families need in order to grow closer to God and each other.

“It’s the number one place, not the only place where we have transferred our faith. It’s where we’ve transferred our values. It’s where we transferred our deep love.”
“Columbia University came out with a study and said that they have discovered the number one thing the number one thing that will be a deterrent to your children being involved in premarital sex, drugs, smoking and drug smoking and alcohol abuse. And that number one thing was dinner five nights a week, and the number was five.”
~Randy Frazee
You matter, friend.
It’s not about getting everything “right”—it’s about showing up authentically, wrestling through life with your kids, and letting grace fill the gaps. The simple act of sharing a meal, apologizing when you mess up, asking questions, or listening with intent is powerfully formative.
Ask the Lord for one new way to connect with your kids this week. Watch Him multiply your “little” into something big for His kingdom.
🍞 The most ordinary moments are often the most extraordinary.
Let’s make them count. Your faith, your home, your table—are life-giving spaces for God to work.
